About Us

The Tack Trunk was established in 1982 to  provide quality horse & rider equipment at reasonable prices to horse lovers in the Upstate South Carolina region and around the country.  Proprietor Barbara Andrews has been riding & enjoying horses since the age of 5. She has a Batchelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University.  She has worked in the Retail, Banking, Hospitality and Merchandising industries over the past 25 years.  She draws from these experiences, plus her personal horse experience to assist customers with their needs.  She has competed in the Hunter and Dressage rings, but more recently enjoys trail riding & camping with her husband Charlie in the North Carolina Mountains.  Together they own 3 horses, (Pride, Salina & "CW Buck Nakid" aka Nick) and ride as often as their busy schedules allow.
